What we do

Recycling

Livewire Utilities Ltd prides itself in being a ecologically considerate and environmentally friendly company. It is our aim to recycle 100% of all arisings from our works.

Brushwood/leaf is processed on site, chipped using our Timberwolf wood-chipping machinery to a fraction of its volume and can either be left for the client's use or removed for conversion to an environmentally sound mulching material at a local purpose-built facility. We supply a number of equestrian centres and a large part of our waste is used in the production of paths, and ground cover to reduce weed growth.

Livewire Utilities Ltd do not burn brushwood other than by special agreement with local councils after the appropriate licenses have been obtained, and is carried out in line with best practice guidelines for forestry and woodland locations.

Logwood arisings can be left at the client's site for their future use or removed to our storage facility for seasoning and processing into firewood. We process all suitable logwood into seasoned firewood which naturally seasons/air dries over 12 months. No kiln dried logs are supplied or sold by Livewire Utilities Ltd.

In our experience clients generally require the removal of all heavy timber from site and we have the necessary equipment and facilities to arrange this efficiently and with the minimum of disturbance. We either negotiate sale of timber for clients or undertake the disposal of saleable material. In certain circumstances, and at clients request, we can use chainsaws to create garden furniture/benches from old stumps and log timber.

We use bio-degradable chain oil to help protect the environment, especially important when working around ponds, rivers and streams.

Sustainability

With ecology in mind we use biodegradable oil for all our chainsaws.
